Some of our future aims are outlined below

To raise the profile of chemical education amongst professional chemists involved in teaching chemistry
To explore issues of teaching and learning related to the subject
To share new ideas on teaching and learning, via an email distribution list
To disseminate information on conferences, meetings and seminars related to chemical education
To increase participation in the chemical education section/division of the SACI biennial convention
To organise seminars in chemical education conducted by chemical education researchers of note
To encourage research into the scholarship of teaching and learning chemistry
To encourage publication in the education section of the South African Journal of Chemistry
To reward achievement in the field of chemical education, through the SACI medal for Chemical Education
